I did it! It's done, the first show of 2019! Monmouth Show!
The whole experience was a huge learning curve, but massively enjoyable. Getting up at 5:30am to pack the car and finish mounting some final pieces of artwork to try and get to the show, set up an be ready to go by 8am was terrifying, but I managed in....with a few small hiccups...
Arriving at the show about 7am with my wonderful other half, David....couldn't have done this without him!...We drove to our assigned are and found the pitch to start unpacking. It hit me as I opened my car boot...I had left my biggest piece of artwork at home after mounting it on the kitchen table earlier that morning!!
Thank god for the first show being local! I abandoned my post leaving David to set up and drove home to pick it up! Phew! Crisis averted!
Set up finished...the day began...
It was a fantastic day with a lot of chatting, meeting other artists and many, many animals.
It was really useful to see other artists displays and get their advice from their experiences. I met so many people and from feedback, everyone loved the bees! :D
Even though it was early....the best seller was my Christmas cards...in July!!!
It was an exhausting day, but I am so looking forward to the Dorset and Berkshire shows in September to have another crack at my display and hopefully not forget any artwork!
Finally at the end of the day, I came home to the perfect evening with my gorgeous cat, Mufi, on my bed....
